It’s a good rule for athletes and weekend warriors to take 10% off of the year to rest or at the very least do a different sport than their primary passion. The theory being it 1) gives your body and mind, time to heal 2) move in different ways that can be beneficial in recovery and sport 3) keeps activity from getting stale.
